POSITION SUMMARY: Assists in the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of simple and moderately complex irrigation systems. Reads diagrams and blueprints to lay out and locate irrigation valves, timers and wiring. Installs irrigation timers, installs irrigation piping and valves. Tests completed irrigation systems for proper functioning of valves and timers. Locates, excavates and repairs or replaces damaged or malfunctioning equipment. Must be dependable, detail oriented, with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn and take direction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Sprinkler System installation
- Plant trees, shrubs, ground covers, etc
- Install block, pavers, flagstone and decorative rock
- Operate equipment such as, skid steer loaders and mini excavators
- Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge and brush trimmers and axes
- Shovel snow from walks, driveways and parking lots and spread salt in those areas
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIROMENT: Work involves moderate to heavy work in all types of weather. There is frequent need to stand ,stoop, walk, lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Dependable hard worker with 3-5 years’ experience in the construction and landscape industry
- Good communication skills, able to lead and motivate a crew of 5
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Proficient is using hand and power tools
- Physically dexterous, must be able to safely lift and carry 50-75 lbs.
- Detail oriented with an eye for detail
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Honest and trustworthy
- Proficient is using hand and power tools
- Able to work in extreme weather conditions
- Valid Utah Driver’s License
- Clean driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Flexible work schedule ~ able to work overtime with occasional Saturdays and Sundays
